Runner's guide
EDP New Generation is a running event dedicated to young athletes aged 6 to 17, giving them the opportunity to experience a running competition in a healthy and fun environment.
No medical certificate is required: when registering, the parent or legal guardian declares that the young athlete is in suitable health and physical condition to take part and accepts the corresponding Terms of Responsibility.
The races are divided into different age groups, with distances adapted to the participants’ ages. The course corresponding to each age group is shown on the official race map.

Participation is free and the event is limited to 1,000 participants. Registrations may close earlier if the maximum number is reached.

You will need the registration confirmation and the participant’s identification document to collect the BIB and participation kit.
Registrations and BIBs are personal and non-transferable.

The BIB is personal and non-transferable and must be clearly visible on the front of the participant throughout the entire race. Participants without a valid race BIB will not be allowed onto the course.
No electronic timing system is used in the event.

Before the race
The EDP New Generation is a running event dedicated to young athletes aged 6 to 17, giving them the opportunity to experience a running competition in a healthy and fun environment. The races are divided into different age groups, with distances adapted to the participants’ ages.
The EDP New Generation takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Parque das Nações in Lisbon. Participants gather from 03:00 pm and the first races start at 04:00 pm.
Young athletes aged 6 to 17 can participate. Registration for minors must be authorized by their parent or legal guardian.
6-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-13 years and 14-17 years, with male and female classifications within each age group.

During the race
The races are intended for participants officially registered in each age group. For organizational and safety reasons, parents and accompanying adults should not enter the course, except where specific assistance has been previously authorized by the organization.
No. There are no aid stations along the courses. Water is provided to all participants after they finish their race.
Yes. Medical assistance is available throughout the event and in the finish area. All participants are also covered by the sports insurance provided by the organization.
Yes. The race bib must be clearly visible on the front of the participant throughout the entire race. Participants without a valid race bib will not be allowed onto the course.
No. For safety reasons, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, scooters and other motorized or wheeled devices are not permitted on the course.
After the race
No. There is no electronic timing system.
Yes. There are classifications for each age group and for male and female participants.
Yes. Medals are awarded to the first three finishers in each age group and category.
Yes. All participants receive an official medal as well as other race souvenirs.
No. There are no cash prizes at the EDP New Generation.
