Runner's guide
The EDP 8K is the perfect race for new runners, families and anyone who wants to experience the excitement of a major running event. Participants must be over 9 years old; participants over 9 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, in accordance with the Race Regulations.
No medical certificate is required: by registering, each participant declares they are in suitable health and physical condition to take part in the event and accepts the corresponding Terms of Responsibility. Race entries are personal and non-transferable.
Using another participant’s bib means you are not covered by the insurance associated with the registration, and all participation data is attributed to the original registered participant.

Before the race
Registrations are made online through the official race website. All registrations are personal and non-transferable.

No. Registrations are personal and non-transferable and cannot be transferred to another participant.
Only in exceptional circumstances, such as illness, injury or pregnancy, and upon presentation of appropriate supporting documentation, may a participant request to transfer their registration to the following edition. For more information, contact info@maratonaportugal.com.

During the race
The EDP 8K has an approximate distance of 8.2 km.
The race starts on the Vasco da Gama Bridge and follows the same course as the Hyundai Half Marathon for approximately the first 7 km. EDP 8K participants then follow the designated route towards their finish line in Parque das Nações.
The course map and all relevant course information will be available on the official EDP 8K website and in the Runner's Guide.
Yes. There will be an aid station at approximately km 6, as well as refreshments in the finish area.
Yes. Participants may carry their own nutrition and hydration products during the race.
After the race
The EDP 8K finish line is located on Alameda dos Oceanos, in front of the Pavilhão de Portugal, next to the Homem Sol sculpture, in Parque das Nações.
All participants who complete the EDP 8K will receive a finisher medal and have access to the refreshments provided by the organization in the finish area.
Yes. Toilet facilities will be available in the designated participant areas.
The finish line is located in Parque das Nações, close to Gare do Oriente and Lisbon's public transportation network. Any special transportation arrangements for participants will be announced closer to race day.
After the race, photos will be available through the organization's official channels and the race's official photography service. Further information and links will be published after the event.
