EDP New Generation gives children and teenagers their own race experience during Lisbon’s running weekend.
The event includes 600 m, 900 m, 1,500 m and 2,500 m races, organized by age category.
Participation is free, making the event an accessible opportunity for young athletes to discover competition and running.
The races are organized by age and gender categories, combining the excitement of competition with a healthy and enjoyable atmosphere.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED
EDP New Generation is a running event created especially for young athletes. According to the 2027 Regulations, the event is open to children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, competing in four age groups: 6-8, 9-11, 12-13 and 14-17 years. Participation must be authorized by the athlete’s parent or legal guardian, registrations are personal and non-transferable, and all registered athletes are covered by the organization’s sports insurance.
Athletes with conditioned mobility who use wheelchairs may also take part. To receive the official medal, they must complete the full race.
Each age group runs its own distance, so every athlete competes in an age-appropriate format.

Participation is free and the event is limited to 1,000 participants.
Participation must be authorized by the athlete’s parent or legal guardian.
You will need the confirmation document (PDF sent by email) to collect the BIB and participation kit.
Registrations and BIBs are personal and non-transferable.

Another person may collect the BIB by presenting the athlete’s registration document.
Please collect on Thursday, March 4 or Friday, March 5. No participation kits will be distributed on race day.

Five sizes are available, subject to stock. Size changes are not accepted when collecting the kit.
The BIB is personal and non-transferable and must be worn visibly on the chest throughout the race. Participants without a BIB are not permitted on the course.
For safety reasons, the organization recommends completing the personal information on the back of the BIB. No electronic timekeeping system is used in the event.
